Toddler Room 2 – 3 yrs

At our Liverpool Day Nursery our Toddler room is run by Shaunna Our Deputy Manager who is holds a level 5 qualification in Early Years Practice.

The children are cared for by a team of highly qualified staff on a ratio of 1 adult to 4 children. The room is very bright and spacious and offers a wide range of resources and equipment.  The transition to our Toddler room usually begins at 22 months old, the children are divided into two age groups within this room, and although the same routine is followed it is completed at alternate times.

The children and parents are supported by the team of staff in introducing toilet training; the staff will offer advice and support. The children are encouraged to become independent learners this is supported with the use of self-service snack time, personal hygiene and garden routine.

The children can freely access the activities and are observed by their individual key person who will record the child’s development and ensure that activities are planned in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework, supporting their individual development.

The children explore the outdoors area and enjoy making mud pies in our mud kitchen whilst others enjoy the use of the water play board. The staff will continue to support the children in counting how many bottles to fill up the pipes. The children also have a large Georgian house where they can relax indoors, having cosy times with books and cushions.
